Forming part of a 16th Century estate the Pool Park Hospital was part of the North Wales Hospital group, purchased and opening in 1937 it continued to operate until 1991 when it was the first to close before the larger Main Denbigh Hospital which finally closed its doors in 1995.

History There is a little more history on my first report from CHM in February 2013. The hospital is also famous for being the place where plastic surgery was first performed in…
It was Boxing day, we decided to have a bit of a gathering for a few beverages and a bit of lunch in the main hall 🙂 Visited with too many people to count let alone list! We staggered our entries and exits and everyone managed to get in and out without a hitch 🙂 I cant say I’m the biggest fan of large group explores but every now and again when the situation calls for it they can be a laugh!

The famous Horror Labs. They were top of my list of places to see for well over a year or so now and it was my most anticipated location of this trip! Along with the regulars Dystopia, Baron Scotland and Lowri, we were joined by Yann Shee for this little adventure. Once inside we went straight to see the jackpot at this place deep inside the dark basement the shelves full of preserved dead animal body parts…

History I don’t really know a lot of information about this place code named Schola CLXXV. It was a monastery with an attached school and this lovely chapel. I’m not clear on when the Prison itself was built but it closed in 2011 where it has since been left abandoned. Decay really taking its toll here potentially sped up by the large amount of attention it has received from metal thieves…
