Forming part of a 16th Century estate the Pool Park Hospital was part of the North Wales Hospital group which was predominantly Denbigh Asylum and other smaller overflow sites. Pool park was purchased and opened as part of the North Wales Hospitals in 1937 and continued to operate until 1991 when it was the first to close before the larger Main Denbigh Hospital which finally closed its doors in 1995.
Visited with Donna. Pretty much all that’s worth shooting in my eyes is the staircase with he infamous chair which is unfortunately now wrecked. I also enjoyed the externals of the front of the building. Glad I went but cant see me going back 🙂 I think there are still talks of it being redeveloped but whether anything will ever come of it who knows.
Want to see more photos from Pool Park? Andyk did a report over on behond closed doors here: Pool Park Hospital

Jacobean stairwell….the carving is just amazing.
Such a shame that no one can salvage it and reuse.
Eats at me sometimes seeing all the decaying beauty.
WOW…THAT STAIRCASE IS MAGNIFICENT.
Fantastic photos. Thanks for sharing 🙂
Thank you very much Oddette, there is not very much else left here but the staircase makes it worth the while 🙂
