Urbex: Château des Faisans, Somewhere, France – May 2014

Welcome to the enchanting abandoned Château des Faisans. This beautiful castle which sits derelict in a large grounds was a pleasure to explore. We arrived early morning, the first stop on the “Chasing Brunas Tour” visiting with Andy K of Behind Closed Doors photography and Darbians we also met up with my adopted mother Angelique and her companions to capture some photographs of the beautiful ornate interior of this place. The highlights of this place have to be the main entrance hall, the through lounge diner which I expect may have served several uses through this places life span. I’ve read that this place was once home to Kings, counts and other members of the royal family and evidence scattered about the place suggests various international connections.
