Urbex: Camelot Theme Park, Chorley, Lancashire, United Kingdom – February 2014 (Revisit)

History
A more full and comprehensive history can be found on the blog post from the first visit in March 2013 here. Briefly the Camelot Theme Park opened some 30 years ago in 1983 and continued to operate seasonally until 2012 which was to be the Theme parks last year before finally closing its doors. The park has since lay abandoned while the majority of the ride are sold off to other amusement parks. Two of the remaining highlights are the Knightmare and Dragon Flyer roller-coasters.
Our Visit
Visited on this trip with Cowboy, Donna, AndyK and Kriegaffe9, we just popped out heads in briefly to see how things were coming along. Not much had changed that I wasn’t already aware of… the Pirate ship is now gone but the main 2 coasters remain. I finally got to see the mannequin grave yard which was something i’d wanted to photograph for a while so happy with that. All in all another good day out!

love the mannequin graveyard shots 🙂
Omg i would love to go there and see it what it is like is it really creepy?
Where’s the entrance?
It is so so sad. I went their quite a few times when the kids were young. Tower of Terror & Dragon flyer were my fave. Stopped going when the kids grew up and they wanted more thrill rides like at Alton towers but when we had a our youngest , back we went. Last time I was their you could tell things were not going well. No new rides, Kids soft play area had become really run down. Some rides gone and just replaced with plants and trees. I could go on but hey gone now 🙁 thanks for the pictures.
Hi random question but did you contact the owner/company to go, if so would you be able to send me the contact information as I am currently trying to go there for a college photoshoot. Thanks and love the pictures
