History
The abandoned CCCP Pilot School also known as the flight school was build in 1933 and was originally established to educate and train engineers and mechanics for military aircraft. The complex, which is built in the shape of an aeroplane was occupied by the Nazis during the second world war and used as a training facility for the Luftwaffe (German Air-force). 1945 the Russian Army took over the site as part of its occupation within East-Germany and the School was not abandoned until 1992 when the Russians left.
Our Visit
There are quite a lot of buildings which form part of this site but our sights were set on one in particular which was home to a rather interesting mural and an old lecture theatre which would have previously been used to train Nazi and Soviet Pilots. Our visit was short and sweet, we found what we were looking for and had a bit of a wonder around the main building on this hot summers day and then left, fun times & great company.
