History can be found in my first visit post from February 2013. Briefly the colliery closed in April 2003 and has stood derelict ever since. After being looted by metal thieves the site is facing demolition.
2nd Time at Clipstone in as many weeks and this time I thought I’d try something a little different. I pushed myself out of the comfort zone of my wide angles and stuck with the 24-105 for the entire explore. It was different I focused more on detail shots and had to really adjust my composition to deal with the crop (missed the sub 10mm range 😛 ).
Visited with Lowri, Urbex Leone, Andrea, Stussy & Scattergun. Lots of fun had by all, some braved the head stocks in the horizontal snow and heavy winds which in my opinion was awesome fun! A couple of us were interviewed for an up coming documentary and we all walked away with some great shots. Highlights was finding a way up the other headstock which I’m yet to try but definitely one for the next revisit! Also climbing one of the winding wheels for a great view of the main building. On with the photos
