History
Woollen & Co Sheffield was formed in 1883 by Edwin Woollen, a sign writer and Frederick Ibbotson a lithographic printer. Woollens dealt with bespoke signage including hand painted signage. The site closed in 2008 after a takeover with several former employees going on to form a new Woollens while maintaining some of the old customer base.
Our Visit
Tipped off about this place by some fellow explorers met only a couple of weeks before it coincidentally became our first spot of the day when me and Ryan met up with Mex, Esposa, Riddler and Riddlers friend for an afternoon of exploring. No the biggest site in the world but still I found it quite interesting with some nice leftovers in the workshops upstairs, most notable the signs everyone seems to use to spell out their forum names (I’m no exception) 🙂 .
If you’ve made it this far… thanks for reading / checking out the pictures. Leave me a comment below or hit the like button to let me know you’ve enjoyed the shots and to encourage me to keep posting more 🙂
Limited Edition and Canvas prints, as well as regular prints, are available for all of the images above just ask me about prices.
