There’s not a lot to say about the abandoned Café Mousel, an unassuming building which extended at the rear to house a bowling alley, large function room, kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms for guests upstairs and a bar / cafe area at the front…
After spotting the furnaces as we pulled up at our hotel for the night we couldn’t resist having a little look. Not expecting to find any access we got lucky and after quickly nipping back to the car for camera gear we were in and up the top in no time 🙂

The Alienworks is a relatively small power station attached to an old steel works which closed some time ago. The site which houses a lot of abandoned buildings also had a large blast furnace but sadly we didn’t get the opportunity to see it up close or climb it…
This abandoned grand neo-renaissance styled Mansion was originally a residential dwelling but from the mid 1980’s became a care facility and later a retirement home for the elderly and was linked to the nearby church organisations. Villa Woodstock as this place is most commonly known, was apparently set for demolition before a private investor stepped in to repurpose the old building…
Externally the building looks more like a town hall or courtroom building rather than a church and the bell towers appears to have been a later addition perhaps the building may have had a previous function in its history. Unsure how long this one had been abandoned but its certainly becoming worse for wear!
I’m not going to sugar coat this one… probably one of the most boring explored I’ve done even to this date. Closed early 2008 and was stripped by the owners then to a greater extent pikies before being left in the condition I found it in early October…
