Urbex: Globe Mill, Huddersfield – February 2014

History

Globe Mill is an old abandoned textile mill located in a small village near Huddersfield. The old stone building is very well built and surprisingly suffering little decay. There are plans which are undergoing review for a complete refurbishment of the site introducing accommodation, doctors, shops and a planned supermarket.

Our Visit

Visited with AndyK, Kriegaffe9 and Lowri. We were blessed with some nice light which made this place a lot more appealing. Not a great deal left here and we only had access to Globe 2 owing to the refurbishment works which are just begining in Globe 1 which backs onto the Canal. Still there were a few shots to be had of the old Mill working spaces and nice beams. The old interconnecting walkway which goes over the road felt like it had seen better days but it held up for us to walk over it a few times 🙂 enjoy the photos:
