History<\/strong><\/p>\n

From what I have dug up on this abandoned house in Belgium it would appear that it was built as a country home for a the Baroness de Viron who was part of a noble family who’s relatives apparently currently occupy the neighbouring house. Built in the 1920’s this house it quite sizeable and has some nice grounds but one of the more unusual features are a collection of around 7 large crosses which are about 2m in hight and are placed scattered around the house within the gardens. I’m not quite sure of the meaning behind the crosses, they are painted white and made of wood, they dont appear to be gravestone markers so perhaps some form of remembrance?<\/p>\n

Our Visit<\/strong><\/p>\n

The second successful stop on the Beauty and the Beast tour, we chose this place due to its proximity to our planned overnight stop, I’m really glad we did as I was pleasantly surprised by this place! Granted a lot of the content have been removed but the place still had a few nice still life shots as well as some furniture left in some bedrooms and the main living room. Highlights were the upper 2 floors in particular the bedroom which contained the child’s cot which was a joy to photograph and the views from the rear bedrooms! A nice little afternoon mooch with some pleasing results.<\/p>\n
