History<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is a little more history on my first report from\u00a0CHM in February 2013<\/a>. Briefly the Main CMH hospital building was built in 1879 and featured heavily during the first world war in dealing with front line casualties. The hospital is also famous for being the place where plastic surgery was first performed in the British Empire. The are we visited this trip was the LMM Annex which later became the maternity wing of the hospital. This section opened slightly later in 1898 and changed its name and purpose in 1958 when it became the maternity hospital. Both parts of the building closed in 1996 and lay abandoned in an ever worsening state of dereliction.<\/p>\n

Visited this time with Pete, Sonyes, Stussy and Lowri. This was my 2nd time at this place in the last 6 days! what can I say I just cant stay away! The larger main part eluded me again but we had a good laugh exploring the Maternity Wing again.<\/p>\n
