The original hospital in the area was established at Etruria in 1804 but was completely rebuilt on a much larger basis in 1814. The hospital then relocated to Hartshill as the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary in 1869. It became the North Staffordshire Infirmary and Eye Hospital in 1890 and the North Staffordshire Royal Infirmary in 1925.<\/p>\n

The facility joined the National Health Service in 1948 and, after services were transferred to the Royal Stoke University Hospital, it closed in December 2012.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Visited with\u00a0Peter ‘Hands’ Costello<\/a> on a very cold February morning. My first explore for a little while after spending a few months overseas working, it was good to get out again getting covered in dust and creeping around in the dark :). Shot this visit entirely with my Canon M6 mirrorless camera while I was awaiting the delivery of my Canon 5D Mk4, really happy with the results from the new almost pocket-sized camera it will be replacing my 100d as my second body in my bag. Back to the visit, this place was actually pretty cool, plenty of operating theatres, some with working lights which I always enjoy for a mix of lighting. There were also a few cool corridors and bits of decay starting to set in where the roofs were beginning to suffer. All in all a fun trip, sadly we missed the morgue in part due to a couple of YouTubers getting caught walking up the main entrance Joy!<\/p>\n
