The History of The Forum Cinema Liverpool<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

The abandoned Forum Cinema which was primarily owned and operated by ABC Cinemas, first opened in the 1930’s and was known to be one of the finest “super cinemas” of the era. The exterior was designed by A. E. Shannon and the interior by William R. Glen, it is the interior which ultimately earned the property its listed status. In the early 1980’s the venue was converted into a three screen Cinema and eventually closed its doors for the final time in 1998. Since then the building has stood empty.<\/p>\n

Our Visit<\/strong><\/span><\/h1>\n

Visited with Andy Kay of Behind Closed Doors<\/a> and SpiderMonkey, this place had popped up with a few others visiting so we headed over to Liverpool to have a look for ourselves. Once inside you can really see why the building received its listed status! Having spent time in Liverpool in the past I was familiar with the building and its exterior but I wasn’t expecting the place to be quite this impressive internally. Fortunately, the contractors lights were installed which illuminated the massive auditorium and made the building much easier to shoot. Enjoy the photos:<\/p>\n\n\t\t\t\t
