History of Daresbury Hall<\/span><\/strong><\/h1>\n

Daresbury Hall is an abandoned Grade II* listed, 17th Century, Georgian style country house which was built in 1759 for George Heron.<\/p>\n

After serving as a private residence for some time, in the Second World War, the building was used as a military hospital and then from 1955 functioned as a residential care home for handicapped people after it was purchased by Scope at a cost of \u00a35,000.00.<\/p>\n

Finally, the building was bought by a millionaire who sadly passed away before restoration works could begin!<\/p>\n

Since its closure Daresbury Hall has been used for all sorts of activities, perhaps most notably it was used as a venue for event days for a zombie experience in which customers could pay to be chased around the site by actors while equipped with airsoft pistols. The directly contributed to the name “Zombie Manor” for which the place was known for quite some time on google maps.<\/p>\n

In April 2015 after a police raid, it was discovered that more than 500 cannabis plants were growing in the basement in a large scale professional operation. The police seized the cannabis which had a street value estimated to be \u00a3750,000.00.<\/p>\n

Next came the “ghost hunters” who frequented the size for a couple of years capturing photos of orbs and grainy video of ghostly figures. Finally in June 2016 Daresbury Hall was subject to a substantial fire. The main building, which was already in a very poor state of repair, was gutted and the roof collapsed. To my knowledge, the pool which sits out the back and the focus of this report remains unaffected by the blaze but has been subject to some poor graffiti tagging.<\/p>\n
