Ch\u00e2teau Wendel and the Bureau Central was originally built in 1704 and acquired in 1720 byJean Martin Wendel to act as the central office for the Steelworks owned and operated by the family. The large building which was added to multiple times over the years now stands empty and abandoned opposite the tended orangeries\u00a0and park. The main building is pretty sizable and what remains is a large L-shaped structure spread over 3 floors and a large\u00a0basement in the majority with a large open hall area which has a large skylight\u00a0similar in design to the one at the CDC in Belgium. This main hall has rooms on all 4 walls and a main entrance down a central corridor.<\/p>\n

Visited with Matt, Scott and Andy de Kay of Behind Closed Doors, I really enjoyed this place, despite being quite wrecked the light was really nice inside especially in the seemingly endless corridors. Enjoy the photos:<\/p>\n
