Originally constructed in 1906, this amazing building was designed as an Orphanage named orphelinat de la Haute-Barde. It functioned as such until around 1946 and from what I’ve been able to establish it became a retirement home for the nearby Tours University Hospital. Ch\u00e2teau Grimpeur, this spot had some really nice features to it… the attached private chapel, whilst suffering a lot from water ingress, was cute and full of hand-painted decorated stonework. Inside the main Ch\u00e2teau, the most notable features were the very wide decorative marble archways both in the main corridor, main entrance and then leading… <\/p><\/div><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/li>
